KEY ACHIEVMENTS
Developed for NYU Buenos Aires a comprehensive monthly financial report comparing actual to budget expenditure and providing analysis and commentary. Ensured that operating budget was met in each fiscal year. Developed and implemented comprehensive procedures for supplier payments, payroll, and bank reconciliations achieving effective control and efficient transaction processing. Initiated with colleagues from NYU London and Paris an administration workgroup to share, knowledge, ideas and experiences across NYU’s global sites.
Established in Buenos Aires the finance and administration function for the Centurion Group. From an original staff of two in 2003 the team has grown to 16 and provides high quality and cost effective support to its European head office and to international clients. Responsibility for accounting, finance, administration, and human resources.
Developed for Centurion Group comprehensive management information pack for 2007 that included consolidation of Centurions 10 revenue centres and more than 70 individual legal entities. This project was especially difficult as the legal and tax structure underlying Centurion is extremely complex as is required for effective international tax planning. The end result was a comprehensive and high quality resource for Centurion management that enabled enlightened decision making.
As Latin American financial controller for legal publisher Reed Elsevier successfully transformed the administration and finance functions of three Argentine legal publishers from family businesses to part of a multinational corporation. Implemented new finance system and procedures, defined organisation structure, trained and motivated staff, and upgraded infrastructure. Successfully managed the acquisition of Chilean legal publishers Conosor, and Publitecsa by Reed Elsevier.
